Beta Mope.io, also known simply as Beta, is a test server of Mope.io used for previewing upcoming updates and other unreleased features. Most of the time it is restricted from normal players, requiring developer powers.
Beta was introduced on May 26, 2018. It has been updated many times since its inception, with each update being vastly different to showcase whichever new feature was in the works at the time. As of January 29, 2026, Beta as a whole is unavailable.
Overview
The gameplay logistics are essentially the same as Mope.io itself; survival of the fittest and making the way up the food chain.
- Beta often has new features, and was a replacement for the former Sandbox mode. As such, there is no set theme for Beta, except for upcoming features that will eventually be added in-game, so that they can be reviewed and any bugs can be removed.
- Normal Mope.io is sometimes referred to as "live Mope" in contrast to Beta.
- Beta is more unstable than normal Mope.io, with more buggy behavior, and is more prone to restarting.
- When undergoing large updates, Beta's content can sometimes be blanked/removed.
- From January 18 to February 20, 2025, Beta accounts could be used in the Shop, but they were separate from main Mope.io accounts, and may be wiped or resynced at any time.
Current status

Around September 23, 2025, Beta was closed and currently remains so. Development is currently focused on v2.mope.io, which has since rolled out to the current game and continues to receive updates in 2026.
Other servers
Dev server
On November 11, 2024, a large update was released to Mope.io which reverted the game's user interface (UI) back to the Season 1 style. Due to unforeseen server issues, the update was later reversed.
The updated version of Mope.io was transferred over to the Dev server, "dev.mope.io", an alternative version of Beta. On November 15, 2024, said update was released to live Mope and the Dev server was closed down.
v2.mope.io
On September 13, 2025, the rewrite of Mope.io, also known as "Mope v2", was released on v2.mope.io, concurrently with the Beta version. Development is currently only on v2.mope.io. The rewrite was updated on February 21, 2026, adding lots of features that were previously missing and fixing key bugs and optimization issues. Since April, updates have become more frequent.
In the rewrite, players can instantly upgrade to the next tier by pressing ↑, or downgrade to the previous tier by pressing ↓.
Mope v2 was released live on June 20, 2026; v2.mope.io servers are no longer accessible.
v1.mope.io
Mope v2 effectively replaced the prior version, Mope v1, on June 20. A new server under v1.mope.io opened the same day for players who still want to use Mope v1. Aside from accounts being unusable, all other features remain the same.
