TemplateData
Used to list information about a file in an organized table.
| Parameter | Description | Type | Status | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| desc | desc | Used to describe what the file is or what it depicts. If left blank, it will add Category:Files without a description | String | required |
| type | type | Refers to the type of file as documented in Module:File/data. This value is compulsory: omitting it will add Category:Files using an unknown type. Here is a list of types: 'screenshot' - for screenshots of Mope.io gameplay or in-game content 'asset' - for game files or assets derived from the game files; 'reconstructed' - for unofficial reconstructed versions of assets; 'ability' - for GIFs of special abilities in mope.io; 'administrative' - for files used behind-the-scenes by staff or for formatting; 'other' - miscellaneous file type
| Line | required |
| rationale | rationale | Fair use rationale for copyrighted files licensed under fair use. If the Type is listed as "asset", "screenshot", or "reconstructed", the rationale will be autofilled with a general fair use rationale based on the file type.
| String | optional |
| free | free | If the file type is "asset" or "reconstructed", but the file is freely licensed and not fair use, this parameter can be used to suppress the rationale which automatically appears (enter "yes" in the parameter to do this). Only needed for a few basic assets which are ineligible for copyright and in the PD.
| Line | optional |
| author | author | The creator or copyright holder of the file. For essentially all Mope.io-related media, the author should be listed as "3AM Experiences".
| String | optional |
| source | source | Where the file was sourced from, or its original link. Defaults to "Mope.io". However, if the type is listed as "asset", this parameter will become required; omitting it will add Category:Assets without a source to the file
| URL | required |
| archive | archive | Used to provide a URL of an asset's archived version, typically on the Wayback Machine. If the file type is listed as "asset", this parameter becomes required; omitting it will cause Category:Unarchived images to be added. If the original game file/asset URL is no longer available (appears as 404 error), you can enter "link rot" so that a message will appear saying the URL has been lost to link rot, and adding Category:Link rot | URL | optional |
| designer | designer | Used to display the individual from the Mope.io designer team who created a particular asset. Only suggested for files with "asset" as the type. | Line | optional |
| uploader | uploader | The individual or user who uploaded or created the file itself. This parameter is usually only used for screenshots. | Line | optional |
| notes | notes | Any other relevant information about the file, e.g. licensing terms, alternative versions, etc. | String | optional |
Example usage
Note that this template is designed to not appear on non-file pages. For an example of what it actually looks like, see the example files linked just below.
Asset
The Copper Phoenix, an asset uploaded from the game files, has this description:
{{File
|desc = The main asset for the [[Phoenix|Copper Phoenix]] skin
|type = asset
|designer = {{dev|Max}}
|source = https://mope.io/assets/s/1/skins/volcano/phoenix/3/phoenix.png
|archive = https://web.archive.org/web/20250626084849/https://mope.io/assets/s/1/skins/volcano/phoenix/3/phoenix.png
}}
Output:
| File information: "File" | |
|---|---|
| Description | The main asset for the Copper Phoenix skin |
| Type | Asset extracted directly from the game files of Mope.io |
| Fair use rationale | This image is an unaltered asset from Mope.io, uploaded to ensure accurate documentation and commentary. It is used non-commercially for encyclopedic purposes. Screenshot
For screenshots, the author should be whoever took the screenshot. However, the source is still "Mope.io" (autofilled) since it is from the game. The below example is from File:LeftHandedJoystick.png; the screenshot was taken by BronzeRattle.
{{File
|desc = Controls when left-handed joystick is enabled.
|type = screenshot

| Fair use rationale | This screenshot depicts in-game content from Mope.io and is used to document gameplay mechanics or events for informational and illustrative purposes.
