Mope.io is a multiplayer .io game in which you play as an animal who eats food and water to survive. There are various biomes that have unique food and terrain to aid the leveling-up process. But be careful! There is an established food-chain. As you eat smaller animals and progress to higher tiers, you yourself must also not be eaten by bigger animals. Animals with lime-green outlines are your prey, and animals with red outlines are your predators! Almost all animals have Special Abilities to help enhance gameplay – for instance, Pigs move fast on mud, Lions can roar, Penguins can slide on ice and Dragons can fly!

Recent Mope.io Updates

June 20, 2026

Jun 20, 2026: Mope v2 release!
 New
- Mope v2 is here! The game's code has been entirely rewritten, allowing for quicker updates!
- Enhanced UI! The UI has been updated, still stylized after classic Mope, but with more functionality.
- New account functionality! You can add friends in-game, and see when they're online! You can also hide your own activity!
- Keybinds have been added! You can now change which buttons do what, so you can customize your experience to what suits you best!
- In-game tutorials are here! If you're new to the game, these tutorials will point you in the right direction. If you're experienced enough with the game, you can disable them in the settings.
- Improved in-game skin selection! While playing, you can right click or hold left-click on an upgrade option to select from any of the skins you own! (You can still tap left click to instantly upgrade with your default skin too!)
Changes
- Tier changes: Wolf swapped tiers with Walrus! (Wolf is tier 8, Walrus is tier 10)
- Tier changes: Lion swapped tiers with Tiger! (Lion is tier 10, Tiger is tier 11)
- Tier changes: Polar Bear swapped tiers with Wolverine and Markhor! (Polar Bear is tier 12, Wolverine/Markhor are tier 11)
- Tier changes: Giraffe moved up to tier 12!
- Tier changes: Cheetah moved down to tier 8.
- Animal rework: Reworks have been implemented for Trout, Arctic Hare, Penguin, Sea-Horse, and Squid!
- Animal rework: Trout can now hold down the ability button after its initial dash to swim 35% faster for 5 seconds!
- Animal rework: Arctic Hare now drops a snowball behind itself (can obstruct predators, or merge with other snowballs)!
- Animal rework: Penguin can now dash while in Water! This has a 5 second cooldown.
- Animal rework: Sea-Horse now dashes through animals and food, and its ability cooldown instantly ends when it touches a Hill/Rock/Tree!
- Animal rework: Squid can now shoot out a glob of ink on command!
Balance
- There are many slight adjustments to gameplay, play and see them for yourselves! Some of the bigger ones:
- Movement has been adjusted, and is overall tighter!
- Fire damage has been reduced, and no longer increases Water loss!
- Snow Leopard can climb Hills and Rocks now!
- Wolf's howl now pushes animals back and damages predators.
- Bear, Gobi Bear, and Polar Bear now cause bleeding and can damage predators! Polar Bear's stun has also been normalized between Bear and Gobi Bear's extremes (its ability always stuns for 2 seconds).
- Toucan's stun has been reduced!
- Ostrich and Cheetah's sprinting have been altered. They now sprint 2x more frequently than other animals!
- Jellyfish can now sting animals up to Tier 15!
- Land Monster pulls in animals slower now!
- Pelican can now fly from Land (won't grab Water/prey in doing so, though).
- Musk Deer can now passively damage animals with its tusks!
- White Rhino now does less damage, but charges MUCH faster!
- +Many other changes, play the game to see them in action!
Other
- New diving hotkey, now you can dive without using your ability! The default button is 'X', but its keybind can be customized.
- Mechanic rework: Some abilities now interact with in-game objects! You can push food around and damage them with some abilities (e.g. Donkey, Bear).
- This applies to some projectiles thrown by other animals too, so some animals can parry the projectiles of other animals and hit the original thrower!
- The coin economy has been tweaked to be less exploitable.
- Animals can now spit Water while under Trees as long as they're not touching the trunk!
- Snowballs now spawn higher quantities of food, and can now spawn Carrots and Cloudberries!

Jun 13: Mope.io V2 Migration Preparation
- In preparation for the Mope.io V2 migration on 20 June, account-related functionality will be temporarily paused starting 19 June at approximately 09:00 UTC.
- During this period, players may be unable to use login, registration, account settings, shop, coins, skins, and other account-based features.
- Account data is not intended to be deleted as part of this process.
- Further updates will be posted as the migration progresses and once account functionality is restored.
