mopeio

Water is type of sustenance that most animals in Mope.io need to survive. If an animal does not have enough water, it will lose health to dehydration.

Overview

The water bar, which tracks how much water the player has

The water bar, which tracks how much water the player has. If it runs out, the player will take damage until they drink water

For animals which rely on water as their form of sustenance, the amount of water that they have will be displayed in the water bar: a blue meter located above the XP bar. The blue represents the amount of water that the animal has. Once an animal's water bar runs out, it will lose health every second until it dies, or until the animal consumes any form of water.

Water is gradually lost over time whenever an animal is not standing on top of a water source (i.e. on dry land). Once an animal falls below about 20% of their water bar, it will show "Low Water" on its water bar. In addition, a small blue spot will appear next to the animal, indicating the animal is low on water; this blue spot can be seen by other players as well. When the water bar falls to roughly 15%, the player will no longer be able to boost until they regain water.

Water can be regained by standing on top of a water-based terrain such as the Ocean, lakes, oases, and water spots. It can also be directly consumed in the form of water drops. Healing stones and certain foods which provide sustenance will also give the player water when used/eaten.

Animals with water as their form of sustenance are able spit water drops at the cost of some water using S. Water can't be shot if the player is on low water.

Diving

Almost all animals that rely on water have the passive ability of being able to dive underwater. Diving animals cannot be affected by other animals, and can move underneath hills and rocks. A diving animal will have the appearance of diving as shown to the right; the animal sprite will be replaced by four bubbles.

While an animal is diving, their sustenance bar will be replaced with an air bar; once the animal's air runs out, they will forcibly resurface until the diving cooldown time (about 2 seconds) ends.

Forms of water

There are multiple different entities which provide water.

Ocean

Main article: Ocean

The Ocean is one of the four main biomes in Mope.io: it is predominantly made up of water. Animals which are in the Ocean will never lose water unless they leave the Ocean, or if they move onto a hill or island (if they are able to). Notably, animals from the Ocean biome will lose water at a much faster rate when they are on dry-land, compared to non-Ocean animals.

Water spot

The water spot is an aquatic terrain, around the size of a Dragon that has 3M XP. These appear in all biomes except the Ocean. Animals which move on top of a water spot will fill up their water bar, and can also dive in the water spot.

Water drop

The Water drop, also known as the water pod, is a unit of water that appears in clusters around water spots. It is found in every biome expect the Ocean.

Lake

Lakes are large areas of water that appear in Land and Arctic. They host multiple other terrain including hills, islands, trees, and ducks.

Oasis

Similar to lakes, the oasis is an aquatic terrain that appears in the Desert. An oasis is made up of water and quicksand; the water of an oasis will periodically expand and shrink. When the oasis' water has shrunk to its lowest extent, animals will not be able to dive in it.
