- Not to be confused with Watermelon
The Floater, also called the Floaty, is one of the three summer items in Mope.io that appears in Oceans, and less commonly in lakes. Animals from tier 5 to tier 15 can ride on floaters to move faster in water. It has 13 known variants that differ in appearance, but provide the same amount of XP and coins regardless.
Technical
- The Floater spawns only in the Ocean biome and occasionally in Lakes.
- Floaters cannot enter Water Spots; they will be pushed around them.
- The only way to ride a Floater is if both the player and item are in the water. The player must be touching the Floater while they are both in water. It is only usable by animals that are in the range of tier 5 to tier 15 – animals above tier 15 or below tier 5 cannot use them.
- Riding a Floater increases the player's speed in water (by 10% according to the Changelog although the actual speed seems to be fixed( but reduces their turn speed significantly. If the player manually gets off a Floater, they will keep this speed for approximately 5 seconds in the water and slow down to their normal speed immediately after.
- Players riding a Floater can still bite Animals, boost, and eat food, yet cannot use their Special Ability. They will push around beachballs and umbrellas, being completely unable to carry them.
- Riding a Floater provides bonus XP and coins, similarly to the soccer pumpkin. Unlike Pumpkins, Floaters will never disappear.
- Players on a Floater are unable to enter Hiding Holes – they will go over them.
- Players are able to kick others off a Floater by shooting water with the
Skey or the animal's Special Ability.- Alternatively, anyone that is using a Floater can get off it by pressing
WorS, firing it backwards. After doing this, there is a 5 second delay in which the player cannot pick up or use any other object, including other Floaters. Oddly enough, the usual 5 second delay after picking up an object does not apply to Floaters (a player can let go of a beachball and immediately ride a Floater).
- Alternatively, anyone that is using a Floater can get off it by pressing
- When riding a Floater on land, the player's speed and handling decreases immensely, making them vulnerable. If a player attempts to ride a Floater on land, the game sends an error message: "You can't ride floaties outside waters!"
- Floaters can be picked up by Tornados, but cannot be duplicated.
Appearance
The Floater spawns in at least thirteen different appearances. The first 8 were added on July 30, 2021; the Rainbow Popsicle, Avocado (both forms are separate), Watermelon, Doughnut with Sprinkles, Garden, Pizza, and the Striped Floater. The last 5 were added on July 12, 2022. These names are conjectural, meaning that it is not certain if these names are official. The Doughnut with Sprinkles, striped floater, garden, and watermelon have the same shape. The Floaters all function identically to each other.
- The Rainbow Popsicle has a dark brown stick and a linear striped color arrangement; starting with pink and ending with dark blue.
- The Avocado Floater resembles a halved avocado with the seed in it. It alternatively spawns without the seed.
- The Doughnut with Sprinkles has a caramel-brown base with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles.
- The Striped Floater has red and yellow stripes with differing widths.
- The Watermelon resembles a watermelon with the middle hollowed out.
- The Garden Floater resembles a grassy field with small flowers on it, with the middle hollowed out.
- The Pizza Floater resembles a slice of pizza with various toppings.
- The Flamingo Floater resembles a pink ring with the head and wings of a Flamingo.
- The Orange Floater is an orange thick ring with shimmers.
- The Whale Floater has the form of a Blue Whale, but one half is blue like ice while the other is dark red with orange cracks like magma.
- The Strawberry Floater is a red strawberry containing various red seeds, a stem, and a small hole at its center.
- The Rocket Floater is light blue with a red cone top and sides at the bottom. It has a small hole at the center.

Trivia
- Floaters are the only objects in the game that can be launched backwards.
- They can be launched inside hiding holes.
- Floaters are the only objects that prevent using hiding holes. Entering one with any other object causes the player to simply lose control of the item and enter it normally.
Glitches
- Floaters were able to move animals that were using the 1v1 Arena until the "Hotfix 2.7" update on August 27, 2021.
