The Bison is a tier 12 Desert animal in Mope.io, and is the equivalent of the Rhino, Eagle, Shark, Wolverine, and Markhor. It was released on April 27, 2019.
Technical
- The Bison upgrades from the Vulture, Crocodile, Falcon, Lion, Octopus, or Polar Bear at 145K XP.
- Upon reaching 350K XP, it evolves into the Komodo Dragon, Hippo, Boa Constrictor, Ostrich, Killer Whale, or Sabertooth Tiger.
- The Bison can consume all food sources in the game, with the exception of berries, dates, and cactus pears.
- Prey of the Bison includes all animals within the range of tiers 11 to 5 (Vulture to Gazelle).
- Predators of the Bison includes all animals within the range of tiers 13 to 17 (Komodo Dragon to Black Dragon).
- The Special Ability of the Bison is "Gores", which cannot be used in water. When pressing
W, the Bison will charge, knocking into the air the first animal that it touches as long as it is between tier 5 and tier 15, excluding equivalents. For every additional time the prey is hit the ability's duration is extended for a few seconds, allowing the Bison to chain hits and rack up damage. Prey and predators can be tossed into the air continuously.- When the Bison's ability is used on predators, or on other animals after the Bison has tossed a different animal into the air, they will receive stunning, but no damage.
- The Bison has no Passive Abilities.
- It cannot use small hiding holes: aside from this, all other hiding spots are accessible to the Bison.
Appearance
The Season 1 Bison is currently the default skin used. It has a dark tan base and hair as well as a dark brown mane and hair. It has a head with a V-shaped snout, a gray nose, narrowed eyes, and two ears. Two off-white horns protrude from the left and right sides of the head above the ears. Noticeably, there is shorter fur on the body and head as well.
When the Bison's "Gores" special ability is active, it will rear its head forwards so the horns point in front of it (this applies to all Bison skins).

Strategy
As the Bison
- The most convenient way of leveling up is to eat Cacti, which require prior consumption of Aloevera plants to maintain the player's health.
- An easy way to get a cactus without losing too much health, is to observe a Komodo Dragon or Blackwidow Spider that is eating a cactus, wait until it has two or one bits of health left. Then ram whoever is eating the cactus away with the Gores ability, and steal it from them.
- The same can be done with Aloevera plants.
- An easy way to get a cactus without losing too much health, is to observe a Komodo Dragon or Blackwidow Spider that is eating a cactus, wait until it has two or one bits of health left. Then ram whoever is eating the cactus away with the Gores ability, and steal it from them.
- The main predators to watch out for are Komodo Dragons and Blackwidow Spiders. Their abilities, if used, will cause the player to rapidly lose water, and will disable use of their Gores ability, meaning they can potentially eat the player.
- A way to kill prey is by knocking them continuously in the air and eventually knock them into Cacti or into an Venus Flytrap to kill them, or into the ocean so they take freezing damage. Consistently targeting one Vulture may prove fruitless, as vultures can climb hills while Bisons cannot. However, if any animal has extremely low health, it would be a good idea to gore them as the player will most likely get the kill.
- If there are other Bison around (2 or 3 is enough), then the players can work together to mob a Komodo Dragon or a Blackwidow, as they can only use their abilities on one animal at a time.
- If the player is by themselves and a Komodo or Black Widow attacks, try to dash away, then turn around and ram them once, then run away (to be safer with Komodos try to wait for them to use their ability, but make sure to stay out of reach before they sweat all of the player's water away.) Note that the Bison's ability does not damage predators, only prey, so it's not recommended to mess with predators.
- The Bison tier is the last tier of the desert that can be bit by flytraps. Be wary of any flytraps, for the Bison gets very chunky with high xp and cannot climb any terrain. Combined, it's incredibly easy to get bit by one while trying to scoot past the plant. Getting sweat bit by a flytrap can be the difference between life or death when escaping a predator.
- Avoid the ocean at all costs. It's a bad environment for Bisons not only because the player suffer freezing damage, but the player also has a bad dive time. Therefore, if a Shark dragged a player into the ocean, they'd have little chance escaping, and could be dragged further and further. Additionally, other ocean predators can also eat Bisons very easily.
