The Tiger is a tier 10 Land animal in Mope.io, and the equivalent of the Bear, Swordfish, Pelican, Wolf, Gobi Bear and Hyena.
The common Tiger was added on November 2, 2017, and its rare variant the White Tiger was added on June 19, 2018.
Both Tiger variants were originally tier 11 animals, but were demoted to tier 10 on May 24, 2019.
Technical
Common Tiger
- Upgrades from the Cheetah, Gorilla, Toucan, Pufferfish, Snow Leopard, Rattlesnake, or Turkey at 60K XP.
- Upon reaching 90K XP, it evolves into the Crocodile, Lion, Falcon, Octopus, Polar Bear, or Vulture.
- The Tiger can eat all food sources in the game except for cacti, berries, dates, and cactus pears. Prey of the Tiger includes all animals within tier 9 to tier 3 (Gorilla to Chicken).
- The Tiger has two special abilities:
- Clicking
Wor the right mouse button will do an "Ambush attack". The Tiger leaps forward immediately with its front legs extended a short distance. If an animal (including predators) is in its path, it will grab onto them to inflict damage over multiple decrements, stunning them for the duration. The player is able to slowly drag them backwards towards the cursor. The ability is canceled early if the animal dies or the Tiger takes damage. It does more damage to prey than predators. - Holding
Wor the right mouse button will grow a bush on the player. Note this bush will be either brown or green, and unlike natural bushes does not spawn food. It will despawn after several minutes.
- Clicking
- The Tiger's passive abilities are as follows:
- It is immune to freeze damage in the Arctic biome, though will still experience freeze effect from Arctic water pods,
- It can climb on hills and trees, and
- It can move fast in water.
White Tiger
| “ | Tigers can launch an ambush attack (HOLD W to grow a bush)! |
” |
There is a 10/200 chance of becoming a White Tiger. It has the same characteristics as the common Tiger, except for the following:
- It has more health than the normal Tiger, and
- For the "Ambush Attack" ability, it has a larger leap.
Appearance
The current default skin for the Tiger is the Season 1 skin. The common Tiger is a medium-sized feline with a thick striped coat predominantly orange on top with a white underside, flanks, and fur at the bottom of the head. It has a wide forehead decorated by two stripes, a small muzzle complete with a tiny pink nose and black freckles, white around its eyes, and relatively small black pointed ears colored pale orange on the inside. Its orange tail is fairly long and ends in black.
The White Tiger converts all the orange into white, including the insides of the ears. The white areas of the common Tiger become pure white.
While using its "Ambush Attack" ability, the Tiger bares its eyes, opens its mouth to reveal its sharp teeth, and stretches its striped arms. It has four toes per paw and long black claws.

Strategy

- The Tiger's ability is similar to the Crocodile's, except with a lunge. Therefore, it is a lot easier to catch up to prey and escape predators, but when dragging prey not as much distance can be covered.
- Target animals on low health, or even try dragging Ocean animals onto Land. Krakens may be a problem, since they may use their whirlpool to escape their ambush. Since the ability lasts for a limited amount of time, make sure to be between ocean animals and the ocean if they can be dragged out. Also, try fishing animals out of the rivers like that too and bite them when they are stunned.
- A risky but effective way of levelling up fast, is to use the ambush ability to tail-bite a predator. Follow a predator with lots of XP (e.g., a high tiered animal such as the Black Dragon). While doing so, it is best to appear preoccupied or to have no interest in the selected predator (such as farming stuff while tailing), or they may notice they are being pursued and guard their tail. When the alignment between you and the predator's tail is opportune, press
Wand aim for the predator's tail. The best time to do this is if the predator is distracted by another animal. Moreover, targeting any animal on low health with this ability is a potential way of getting a kill and levelling up even faster. If a severely wounded animal is in sight, wait for as long as possible to pounce on them; if the ability is used and does not reduce the predator's health completely, chances are another animal will steal the kill. - Cobras are great targets when they struggle into rivers or mud, but they can poison you with their ability, and Toucans can just fly away from you. Gorillas are recommended prey, since they too can climb trees and hills but are slower in water. Note that Gorillas can throw a banana/coconut from a tree/hill to stun you; dodge as many of the fruits as possible.
- If you just want to peacefully farm, eat mushroom bushes, Honey Bees or Frogs. So that you aren't at risk of damage from multiple bee stings and being eaten by predators, don't directly attack the Beehive, but find stray bees that are just wandering around. Use your ability on the bee and it will get trapped, taking out about half its health in total. Then, eat the bee, as bees have a tendency to be "confused" after being stunned, and not sting the threat. Repeat this process until you level up. It should only take about two or three Bees to level up.
- Try also using your ability on Ducks. They will be stunned and ducks can also give a fair amount of experience, so note that. Or if you've eaten all the ducks in the lake, eat the bananas, lilypads and eggs that also spawn there. You can also hang around the volcano and shoot water at watermelons by pressing
S. Beware of the Phoenixes and Black Dragons that also lurk around that area, as they could be a threat. - When fleeing from a predator, using the ambush attack ability is also useful in lunging away from them as it gives a momentary boost in speed. Eagles and Falcons are particularly dangerous, so stay away from them as much as possible. If either animal pursues you, run to the nearest water spot, river, lake, or ocean, since both are weak in bodies of water. If picked up by an Eagle, use the ambush ability as soon as possible. If a Falcon is sky-diving and aiming close, press
Wquickly to pounce out of its reach before it can stun and damage you. If a predator that can't climb hills traps you on one, try to avoid the effects of its ability. - Once it wastes it, use the ambush to stun them or run away before their ability can cool down. Create a bush so they don't know when you're going to strike. Do this repeatedly until they give up, and if they don't, pounce on them one last time, and you better be fast on your feet if you don't want to become a crunchy snack. Tigers are fast in water and can climb on hills, but watch out for Dragons; they can do the same.

Trivia
- It is one of the few animals that can spawn a biome feature, being a bush.
- The Tiger is the only Land animal that does not experience freezing debuff when it is in the Arctic. This is likely in reference to the wide habitat variety of the real animal, residing from jungles to alpine regions depending on population.
- Its special ability was previously a "Claw Slash", similar to the Bear and Polar Bear.
- Despite Tigers in real life being the largest extant felines, in-game they are dwarfed by the Lion, particularly the Black Maned species.
Glitches
- When it was first released, the Tiger's "Ambush Attack" would last for unnaturally long periods of time, being able to eventually kill any animal. This glitch was fixed on November 4, 2017.
- In different time periods, both Tigers' ambush abilities would instantly reload, allowing players to speed around the map.
- Also in different time periods, the Tigers occasionally got stuck in the ability sprite with extended claws after using the "Ambush Attack" ability. An example can been seen in the Gallery.
- For an unknown period of time, bushes did not despawn.
